DARRAGH O’CONNELL

Creative Director, Brown Bag Films

Despite his better judgement, Darragh co-founded Brown Bag Films in 1994 with Cathal Gaffney. Since then, he has barely had a day off! While he is primarily a director, the two short films he has produced – Give Up Yer Aul Sins and Granny O’Grimm’s Sleeping Beauty – have both been nominated for an Oscar®.

His director screen credits include the TV Series Olivia and Octonauts. He also executive-produced Wobblyland; Noddy in Toyland; Doc McStuffins and Henry Hugglemonster. Darragh’s most recent short film, 23 Degrees, 5 Minutes, was voiced by John Hurt. In a previous life at Brown Bag Films, Darragh directed a huge range of animated commercials.

In 2010, Darragh was invited to become a member of Hollywood’s Academy of Motion Pictures, Arts & Science.

Doc likes… watching his two-year-old dancing to the credits of the Octonauts. It’s his proudest professional achievement.
