Diego Molano

Creator of Victor and Valentino | USA

Diego Molano is the creator of Victor and Valentino, the new Cartoon Network animated series. Based on his original short film that was part of the Studio's Global Artists Program, Victor and Valentino is a supernatural adventure that tells the story of two half-brothers who spend their vacations with their grandmother in Monte Macabro, a small and mysterious town, where myths and legends of Mesoamerican folklore come alive, discovering creatures from other worlds, curious beings of forgotten folklore, and places that have only been described in myths.

Diego Molano graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), and was named as one of the animators to keep an eye on Variety in 2018. He has previously worked as a storyboard artist in the Emmy-nominated Cartoon Network series, Powerpuff Girls. He has also worked at Black Dynamite, Superjail!, and China, IL.

Victor and Valentino was inspired by Molano's fascination with mythology, mixed with his multicultural influences and his Latin roots, and presents an authentic narrative with inclusive characters.
