Javier Fesser is a storyteller. He began his career directing short films as Aquel Ritmillo and El secdleto de la tlompeta, the first of which received the Goya Award for Best Fiction Short Film.

In 2003 premiered La gran aventura de Mortadelo y Filemón, an adaptation of the popular cartoon characters created by Francisco Ibáñez. A live-action film, it became one of the highest grossing films in spanish history with over 5.5 million viewers. The film won five Goya Awards.

In 2014 premiered Mortadelo y Filemón contra Jimmy el Cachondo, his second film into the franchise (and third in the series). It is a successful animated feature film which won two Goyas for Best Animated Film and Best Adapted Screenplay.
