Richard Zela

Illustrator and graphic storyteller - Mexico

Born in Mexico City, Richard studied design and visual communication at ENAP.

He has received several awards for his work, such as the FONCA's Young Creators, period 2012-2013 and 2017-2018 in the category of graphic narrative, as well as the first place in the 20th Catalog of Illustrators of the FILIJ. He was also one of the winners of the SecuenciArte 2017 contest.

He has been selected in various anthologies or illustrated catalogs, such as the 18th Spectrum: The Best in Contemporary Fantastic Art, or the 11 Expose Catalog of Ballistic Publishing. Zezolla. His first his first book of illustrations was selected to represent Mexico at the Bratislava Biennial and is part of the IBBY honor list, in the category of best illustration proposal in 2015.

He currently divides his time trying to lead a healthier life, illustration and comics.
