Ricardo Zarraga

Actor, director and teacher

Ricardo studied at the National School of Theater Art of the National Institute of Fine Arts, at the École Philippe Gaulier in Paris, France and at the Burlesk Center in Locarno, Switzerland. He speaks 5 languages and is also pampering, Clown, improviser and musician.

Since 2001 he has worked the IMPRO improvisation technique in which he has obtained several national and international championships and awards. In theater he has participated in about 50 works (National Institute of Fine Arts, UNAM and independents), in 2011 he won the Enrique Ruelas National Prize for the best theater staging for the play La Noche de San Juan where Act and direct.

He has participated in more than 30 Live Action short films and feature films, including The Student (Dir. Roberto Girault), the short film Reality Show by Federico Schmucler, nominated for Ariel 2009 and winner best short film in Shanghai, Moscow, Tel Aviv and Beijing among other awards. He has worked with Alejandro González Iñárritu in the video clip Aviéntame (soundtrack of “Amores Perros”) by Café Tacaba, as well as with Peter Greenaway at Eisenstein in Guanajuato.

On television, he worked in Disney Channel’s Zapping Zone, Once TV’s The Eleven Show (winner of the Ibero-American Prix Jeuneusse) and in Make me laugh as well as in some other Televisa shows.
