Stop motion evolution
Important Notice: Due to health unseen circumstances, Mike Johnson will not be able to connect to the Q&A at the end of the pre-recorded part of the activity. However, he promised to make up the question session in the next few days (so we'll see you again in a couple of weeks).
Mike Johnson will go back to his early career to share iconic work that preceded him, early techniques, and how they have evolved with digital technologies.
For this tour, he will share his student work, then his development from Nightmare Before Christmas to Corpse Bride (which he co-directed with Tim Burton), showing behind-the-scenes videos.
He will make a comparison of his work directing digital animation versus directing Stop Motion, including samples of his personal work, making puppets, material from his classes in China and what he has done during the confinement due to the pandemic.
