Based on the novel Autobiographie d'une Courgette by Gilles Paris, this stop motion feature tells the life of a child who, after losing his mother, is sent to an orphanage with other children like him, where he learns the meaning of friendship, trust and true love. The film was nominated for the Oscar for best animated film in the awards given in January of this year.

About the Director:

Claude Barras is a Swiss film director. He has a degree in both Anthropology and Computer Graphics. In addition to working as a freelance illustrator in Geneva, he has directed several short films including "Le génie de la boîte de ravioli". My Life as a Courgette is his first feature film, which has received awards all over the world, including Cannes, as well as the Oscar nomination.
