JOSÉ MARÍA FERNÁNDEZ VEGA

Director in Buñuel en el Laberinto de las Tortugas· Founder of The Glow Animation Studio / Spain

With great passion for animation and illustration since his childhood, José María left a career as an engineer and began experimenting with digital art and 3D design and animation.

In 2006 he created Claroscuro Digital, a 3D design studio, where he directed the development of the animated feature El Secreto de Aguaviva. In 2010 he founded GLOW, an audiovisual studio based in Extremadura (Spain) and specialized in animation and postproduction, with which he direct and produce spots for TV and entertainment companies around the world.

Between 2012 and 2014 he produced his first own projects: El hombre más famoso del mundo (The Man more famous of the world) and Genti di Muerti (People of dead). In 2015 GLOW develops its first 3D animated series project, Yukimura, the Ancient Samurai. And in 2016 he began his first 2D animated feature: Buñuel en el labertinto de las torturgas (Buñuel in the Turtle Labyrinth), which he produces alongside qith Manuel Cristóbal.
