Rodrigo Perez-Castro is an Annie Award-nominated Mexican-Canadian animation filmmaker with over 15 years of experience in the industry. Rodrigo has worked as a Story Artist for numerous film projects from Disney, Bluesky, Paramount Animation, and Dreamworks TV, among other studios. A few of his most recent credits include- “The Book of Life”, “Ice Age: Collision Course”, "Ferdinand" and “Rio 2”, for which he was nominated for an Annie Award in the category of- “Outstanding Achievement for Storyboarding in an Animated Feature Film”.
He has also served as the Head of the Story for "Ice Age: the Great Eggscapade" and the "How to Train your Dragon" TV series. He worked as the head of the story department for House of Cool Inc. in Toronto for over 5 years, where he supervised and trained numerous young story artists. More recently, he acted as a Story Consultant on Rovio’s successful, first animated foray “Angry Birds”. Rodrigo is currently directing the hand drawn animated film ”Koati”, his directorial debut.
