Reconciliation stories
The objective of this workshop is to interpret artistically the interview of a victim selected by an NGO from Colombia. The workshop helps in historical memory because it develops a documentary short film, and also in symbolic reparation through the aesthetic approach, which involves animation to interpret the story, also giving voice to direct victims and those who suffered similar patterns of victimization .
Artistic forms such as animation ennoble difficult stories and make them universal, give them a voice and avoid revictimization. While reporting the facts is important, the interviews are intended to express the environment in which they lived, who they were and how they imagine reparation and reconciliation.
This is the point of view of the victim: His participation and his story are the script, which is transformed into cinematographic language.
In Reconciliation Stories, multiple animation techniques such as painting, drawing, collage, digital expression, sand, rotoscopy, photographic intervention will be used. All these techniques allow to express in turn multiple feelings, atmospheres, reconstruction of situations, moods and even fictional elements.
