Octavio Jiménez
I was born in Mexico City on November 23, 1979. Between 1998 and 2002 I took a degree in Design and Visual Communication, with a specialization in Illustration, all this at the National School of Plastic Arts (ENAP) of the UNAM (the National University of Mexico). Currently and since 2000, I work and survive as a cartoonist, illustrator, infographer, and scientific illustrator, I assume myself as a graphic producer.
Since 2015 I am an active member of the Mexican Association of Illustrators (AMDI), creating and promoting initiatives.
In my secret identity, I design, illutrate and publish my own webcomic Mercado Negro Comics; Stories of self-defense, The issues under the heading Nuestros derechos serán justicia (Our rights will be justice) and Historia de México X (Mexican History X) are some of the narrative arcs that I have made under that seal. I currently live, work and occasionally sleep well in Iztapalapa, Mexico City.
Octavio Jiménez was one of the winners of SecuenciArte 2018, and is part of the artist's Alley, which will be installed at the Festival Fair.
