Ricardo Farías

Co-founder of GIANT stories

Ricardo is a writer and director. He is co-founder of Giant Stories, with Christian Cueva, a studio that develops original IPs for various media: film, TV, VOD and OTT.

He has directed four short films, VOCES -Thriller paranormal- (2015), Bolas de Fuego (Segmento México Bárbaro 2, 2016) Deliver (2018) - a Sci-fi thriller with more than 25 official selections around the world and awards- and La leyenda de la Novia) (The Legend of the Brude, 2018) and wrote El Botón (2021).

He has co-written suspense and horror stories, como Regalo de Cumpleaños y La Exorcista with Christian Cueva and Adrian García Bogliano. He worked on projects as a local producer and fixer, such as MTV 19 (documentary), Banged Up Abroad (docudrama series) and Las Prisiones más peligrosas del mundo: Ciudad de México (documentary series).

He was content director for Grupo Mórbido, a suspense, horror and dark fantasy film platform. He is Content Director of Shark Tank México, seasons 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 (Produ award 2019) and Shark Tank Colombia 1, 2, 3 and 4. He worked as a scriptwriter for the miniseries "EARTHQUAKE 85" (Promax Award 2016 ) and EL SON DEL CHILE FRITO: Lila Downs (Sony Music, 2018).

Ricardo wrote the book Ésta es mi pinche biblia (This is my fucking bible) with Lorena Amkie. He has also written and directed short formats and branded content for Discovery, History, Turner, H & H and Televisa. He is content advisor in Familias frente al fuego, for Endemol and Televisa. He finished filming the first season of La culpa es de La Malinche for Comedy Central in early 2020 as Content Director and screenwriter.

Currently, Ricardo is showrunner for a series on corruption (in post-production). In addition, the fictional feature film, Avándaro: The Legend of Mexican Woodstock that he co-wrote, received EFICINE this year. In August he is filming his first fiction feature film that he wrote with Adrián García Bogliano and Christian Cueva: La Exorcista for BTF Medi
